To this end Holyhead Sailing club members have nearly 300 boats ranging from Optimist Dinghies to large bluewater cruisers.  There is a thriving Dinghy Racing fleet, a substantial Squib Racing fleet and over 200 cruisers and cruiser/racers many of whom regularily take part in club events.

It is an excellent sailing venue with a large sheltered expanse of water, thanks to the one and a half mile long breakwater, making it ideal for dinghy sailing and the more open water of Holyhead Bay ideal for both day sailing both Squib/Offshore racing.

The club has also hosted many Regional and National Championships for a number of different classes.

The geographical position of Holyhead right in the centre of the Irish Sea also make it an ideal place to start your cruises with the Isle of Man, Eire, Northern Ireland, Pembrokeshire and Southern Scotland all within a days sailing distance.
